Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal starring Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha and Nayanthara in a triangular rom-com hit the theatres on April 28th and is receiving an overwhelming response from the audience. Though with mixed reviews the film is doing well at the box office.

Samantha who played the role of Kathija in the film was loved by the audience for her bubbliness and innocent acting. The actress also shared a video thanking the fans for the positive response and the love they showered on her.

In a recent interview with a leading channel, Vignesh Shivan revealed who was the first choice to play this role. Vignesh Shivan said that he was planning to make this movie when he was filming Naanum Rowdy Than with Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi.

He also revealed that his first choice was Trisha and due to call sheet issues the film was delayed. Trisha is now waiting for the release of her epic drama Ponniyin Selvan directed by Manirathnam. The first instalment of the film will hit the theatres on September 30.
