'Kaasi', starring Vijay Antony in an emotional and intense role, presents the film as a story-based subject set in the backdrop of a village. Just as in 'Bicchagadu', there is the element of mother sentiment in the film.

The news is that the film will hit the screens on May 18. Ahead of its release, the makers will hold a grand pre-release function in Hyderabad on the 14th.

Directed by Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, it also features Anjali, Sunainaa, Nasser, Shilpa, Amritha, Yogi Babu, RK Suresh, Vela Ramamurthy, and Jayaprakash are part of the cast. Vijay has teamed up once again with Bhasya Sree to write the Telugu version.

Bhasya Sree has previously penned 'Bicchagadu', 'Saithan' and 'Bethaludu' for the actor. Music is by the hero himself.
