Box Office Collections made by 'Kodi' and 'Kaashmora'

Dhanush's first dual role flick 'Kodi' and Karthi's 'Kaashmora' were the big releases that lit up the festive mood and celebrations for the Deepavali festival. Both the films have garnered decent reviews from critics and predominantly positive word of mouth from the audience. As a result, both the films have achieved an 'Excellent Opening' in Chennai as well as other centers across the state and overseas markets.
'Kodi' the political thriller directed by Durai Senthilkumar got 350 shows including the special morning shows across 23 theaters in Chennai. With this the film has collected close to One and a half crores (Rs.1,44.15,880) in three days with a 95% occupancy rate. As far as Chennai Box office is concerned the film has achieved an 'Excellent Opening'.
'Kaashmora' the multiple genre film directed by Gokul has also achieved 95% occupancy rate in its first three days. The film was screened 302 shows across 17 screens in Chennai for the Friday, Saturday (Deepavali festival day) and Sunday. With this the film has collected around Rs.1.2 crores (Rs.1,18,56,410) which resulted as a Box office verdict of 'Excellent Opening'.
'Kodi' is getting positive reviews for its realistic political content and the exemplary performance by its lead actors Dhanush and Trisha. 'Kaashmora' has emerged as crowd-pleaser mainly due to its comedy content and the performance of lead actors Karthi and Nayanthara. Both the films show strong signs of emerging as super hits that would propel the careers of respective lead actors and technicians.
