After the movie `College days' , director G N Krishnakumar is right here facing the audience with his new movie `Kanchi'. An interesting concept about the travel of a revolver to meet  the  destined victim , Kanchi has plenty of sequences that invite interest.

The movie has Indrajith as Madhavan  an ordinary  grocery shop owner who gets betrothed to  Gauri (Archana Gupta). As they are making the arrangements or their impending marriage , Madhaan accidentally becomes the witness to a murder of Thomas, the son of Korakkattil Varghese(Joy Thomas) one of the most influential man of the area. The man who has done the gruesome murder is Peringodan (Murali Gopy), a  gangster who also is a specialist in studying  horoscope of others. In fact this man is  trying to locate the person who is going to kill him, as per his horoscope. Madhavan naturally becomes the most demanded witness of the case as C I Mathew (Sudheer Karamana) who is hell bend on getting Peringoder behind the bars try every trick in the book to make it happen.

With the tag line, `A tale of a death foretold', Kaanchy written by Jayamohan, is another thriller that is sure to engage viewer who like differently told tales. Though it repeats the Bollywood tracks of youngsters lured to crime due to circumstances, it is presented in an effective and different way.

Also the role of the revolver, which at times loom over different heads waiting to get its trigger  pressed, is an interesting idea. But the climax sequences could have been more believable which could have added to its Box Office concerns. . The technical sides are top notch with fine visuals and editing. The performances are overall good with Murali Gopi taking the lion share of applauds. Indrajith also lend believability with his natural acting skills while Sudheer Karamana,  and Devi Ajith also excels in their roles. Archana Gupta looks beautiful  but  fails to rise above an average performance.

'Kaanchi' may not be the in the list of best films that has hit the theatres recently. But it is a movie that is sure to satisfy the fans of thriller movies.
