As per early trade reports, the theatrical release rights of 'Kaala' for the areas of Andhra and Ceded have been acquired by Vallabhaneni Ashok. It's going to be a grand release in these areas.

Between them, the Andhra Pradesh and Nizam territories have been sold for more than Rs. 30 crores, as per a source. This is more than equal to what the much-hyped 'Kabali' had done.

As reported earlier today, Kaala's pre-release event will be held on May 29 at Hyderabad's Novotel hotel.

The movie's big release in the US has been confirmed. "We are proud to share the news our film will be the biggest Rajinikanth film release in the US. All 3 languages in 286+ locations but we are not done yet!" a statement from MM Media LLC says.

Directed by Pa. Ranjith, the Rajinikanth-starrer will hit the screens on June 7.
