Sa Ra Govindu, the President of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC), has on Tuesday said that 'Kaala' will not hit the screens in Karnataka. Reason? KFCC disagrees with Rajinikanth's comments on the Cauvery issue.
Before this formal decision was taken, KFCC had urged exhibitors and distributors to not screen the Pa Ranjith directorial. "We Kannadigas are totally upset with Rajinikanth's comments on the Cauvery stalemate. We have received about 10 letters from different pro-Kannada groups, asking us to take into consideration the sentiments of Kannadigas," the President has said.
He has added that the decision has been taken to ban the film under no pressure. Kaala's distributor Goldie Films has been informed of the decision.
