Its very rare to find a film that is being hailed as a classic also keeping the cash registers ringing. Debutante director Manikandan's 'Kaakka Muttai' easily makes it to the list of the select few classics.

After conquering the hearts of Tamil movie buffs and critics alike, the film is going to have a grand release in Kerala on June 26. It is already doing well in Bangalore and Mumbai besides garnering Rs.10 crores theatrical collection from TN.

It is to be noted that 'Kaakka Muttai' is the first Tamil film to have enjoyed a Tax exemption in the state of Karnataka for its poignant content.

The film has brought pride to not just its producers Dhanush and Vetrimaran but also to the entire Tamil Cinema industry and the Tamil Nadu state.
