Jyothirmayi keen to do character roles

Jyothirmayi started her career in Tamil appearing for an item number. She settled down fast to play the heroine.
Thalainagaram gave a fillip to her career in Kollywood. She is now acting in Naan Avan Illai, where she has more scope to perform.
Meanwhile the actress is confident that her role as Nagammai in Periyar will fetch her awards.
It was a tough challenge working for Periyar. Thanks to my director (Gnanarajasekaran) and the whole cast and crew.
She wants to shine by performing character roles played by the likes of Revathi, Suhasini and Nadhiya and those are the types of roles she will accept from now on.
