Did you know Jyothika was paired with Vijay in a movie also starring Suriya?

Suriya and Jyothika are the most adorable couple in Kollywood who have also shined as a pair in several movies including their debut 'Poovellam Kettupaar', 'Uyirile Kalanthathu', 'Kaakha Kaakha', 'Perazhagan', 'Maayavi', 'June R' and 'Sillunu Oru Kaadhal'.
It is interesting to note that Jyothika signed on to play the lead role opposite Vijay in the blockbuster hit movie 'Friends' which also had Suriya as the parallel lead. Similarly Suvalakshmi was cast as Vijay's sister and Suriya's love interest. Photoshoots were taken with these top stars who were rising young stars at the time creating huge excitement among fans.
However, due to date clashes both Jyothika and Suvalakshmi opted out of 'Friends' directed by Siddique and were replaced by Devyani and Vijaylakshmi. The film in spite of the casting change went to become a milestone film in both Vijay and Suriya's careers not to forget the comedy durbar by Vadivelu and gang.
