Justice AK Sikri has refused the central government offer to join the Commonwealth Secretariat Arbitral Tribunal (CSAT). Last week, CBI director Alok Verma was removed from his role, and AK Sikri had been a part of the three member vigilance committee headed by PM Modi, which decided against Alok Verma.
While Congress Lok Sabha leader Mallikarjun Kharge had voted against removing Alok Verma from CBI director's role, Narendra Modi and AK Sikri had voted to remove Alok Verma, and as majority was for his removal, Alok Verma had lost his post. Justice AK Sikri's voting had turned sensational in the political arena.
Two days after this incident, AK Sikri has been offered the role of the leader of Commonwealth Secretariat Arbitral Tribunal, a role which Sikri had earlier been expecting, and it was also speculated that his voting in favour of central government was for securing this role. But in a shocking turn of events, Sikri has refused this offer, and it has been said that the decision came after multiple reports of him favoring the central government.
