The Centre on Saturday evening said that the lockdown will continue until June 30 in Containment Zones.
The government has made it a point to call it Unlock 1 instead of Lockdown 5. "States may impose restrictions/prohibit activities as per assessment," the Union Home Ministry said today.
Phase 1: Reopening of shopping malls, hotels, restaurants, hospitality services and places of religious worship from June 8. "These activities can't take place in containment zones. Moreover, they are subject to the standard operating procedures to be released by the ministry of health and welfare," a note from the Centre says.
Phase 2: Reopening of educational institutions, training and coaching centres from July will take place. This shall be done in consultation with the respective state government.
Phase 3: Cinema halls, gyms, swimming pools, entertainment parks, etc will be decided based on the assessment of the situation. Dates for the reopening of International air travel of passengers and the operation of Metro Rail will be issued later after an assessment of the prevailing situation.
