'Jurassic World' Trumps 'Inside Out' At The Box Office

It was going to be no big surprise that Disney/Pixar's latest 'Inside Out' was going to win on Friday. But, it was 'Jurassic World' that has won the weekend box office.
With stellar reviews pouring in from all corners for 'Inside Out', the film took in a stellar $34.2 million on Friday and notched up $91.1 million in its opening weekend. This is the best opening and quite a record for any non-sequel Pixar film.
'Inside Out' added another feather to its cap for the biggest-ever opening for an original film that was not based on any existing source material. By doing so, the film has beaten the previous record of $77 million debut held by James Cameron's 3D epic 'Avatar'.
Meanwhile, 'Jurassic World' notched up $29 million this Friday and wne ton to win the weekend collections with an estimated $102 million. Asa result, the Chris Pratt and his raptor squad have accumulated a total of $398 million at the US box office leading to believe the film will gross over $400 in 11 days therein beating the existing record held by Marvel's 'The Avengers' (2012) that did it in 14 days.
it doesn't end there for 'Jurassic World' yet. The film is making huge waves at the international box office and has made $981 million, thereby beating 'Despicable Me 2' and 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone' to break into the all-time top 25.
