July is perhaps the busiest month after February, which saw seven releases - Poola Rangadu, Nippu, Rushi, Dhoni, Love Failure, SMS, and Ishq. March was a busy season in its own right, but hardly two films from a list of six films - Nuvva Nena, Mr. Nookayya, Ee Rojullo, Naa Ishtam, Lovely and 3 – attracted audience attention.

April, May and June have seen releases few and far between. After a gap of several months, Tollywood is going to witness a very important month. Rajamouli's Eega, Trivikram's Julayi, PJ's DCM, Kamal Hassan’s Viswaroopam, Shekar Raja's UKUP, MS Raju's Tuniga Tuniga, Chakri Tholeti's Ajith-starrer David Billa, are some of the big films set for release.

Eega belongs to a league of its own. Though it belongs to sci-fi genre, it has lovers of romantic cinema (thanks to Nani and Samantha) and action cinema (thanks to Sudeep and Rajamouli's previous work) alike waiting with curiosity. Julayi occupies importance for those of us starved of a full-length comedy for long now. After Ek Niranjan, Nenu Naa Rakshasi and Businessman, it may not be wise to expect a midas touch from PJ in DCM. That said, it may well surprise the audience.

UKUP has variously evoked excitement and laughter. The first one thanks to Balakrishna's looks in the trailer and the latter, due to Manoj’s eccentric get-up. For the same reasons, UKUP may get impressive openings.

MS Raju is trying something difficult at a time when people have almost forgotten him. TT, we wish, will be a sleeper hit, nevertheless. In a month of well-known releases, TT is a dark horse, featuring two faceless debutantes.

Viswaroopam and David Billa are from Kollywood, but their heroes have been South Indian heroes. The Universal Hero has always been cheered in AP whenever he experimented. We only hope that Viswaroopam is not a complicated, high brow film like Hey Ram. As of David Billa, we expect nothing less than a classy, sleek action caper.
