Young Tiger Jr NTR, who is choosing his characters meticulously, will next be seen in a never-seen-before role in his new film, NTR 31. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana of Uppena-fame, the film shows NTR as a 60-year-old man.
"The film is set in the 1980s in Visakhapatnam and will have Jr NTR playing a role on the lines of Aamir Khan from Dangal. While it is still unclear if he plays a wrestler, Buchi Babu has chosen an interesting concept with a sports backdrop and has convinced NTR to play a sexagenarian. The film is expected to go on floors later this year soon after NTR is halfway through the shooting process of his film under Trivikram Srinivas's direction," says a source close to Jr NTR. Mythri Movie Makers, who earlier made Janatha Garage with NTR, will bankroll this film.
NTR is currently shooting for SS Rajamouli's RRR wherein he essays the role of Komarum Bheem, a rebellious freedom fighter of Telangana. Also starring Ram Charan, the film is in the last leg of production and will hit the screens on October 31. NTR will soon begin shooting for his next with Trivikram in April. Produced under Haarika & Haasine Creations, the film will be launched on Ugadi.
Buchi Babu, on the other hand, has made his directorial debut with Panja Vaisshnav Tej-starrer Uppena. Set in the backdrop of Coastal Andhra, the rustic love story was a runaway hit at the box-office.
