Jr NTR on Saturday interacted with the media to announce that he will be hosting a game show titled 'Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu' for Gemini TV. He took a range of questions, including on SS Rajamouli's 'RRR' and his political entry.
Here we bring you highlights from the interaction.
Excerpts:
Through Bigg Boss, I got to interact only with contestants. As the host of EMK, I will get to interact with the common man. Nagarjuna garu and Chiranjeevi garu have set a certain standard before me.
Confidence is the most important thing in life. The promo of EMK says that, after participating in the show, a contestant will gain a lot of confidence to strive hard in life.
There will be no change in format compared to Meelo Evaru Koteeswarulu. The game show is not necessarily for highly talented people or geniuses. More than education, knowledge is important. Knowledge can't be acquired in schools/colleges. It is developed by us in the course of our lives.
As a celeb, my world has become restricted. As children, we had so many friends in the neighbourhood. Without our knowing, celebs like me have lost the freedom to freely interact with people. By hosting a game show like EMK, I will get to interact and know my contestants intimately. I will get to learn something or the other. I hope it will make me a better actor, a better human, a better father, a better citizen. Pressure is to be expected in our lives. I feel responsible like we all should.
I don't think doing a game show like this one will help me in terms of the acting career. Cinema and TV are totally different.
The likes of Amitabh Bachchan garu, Chiranjeevi garu, Nagarjuna garu, Puneet Rajkumar and Mohanlal garu have done this game show. There is something or the other to learn from them all. I want to go with the flow. I have no plans. The show format has survived in a number of languages over the years. I will try to add my own flavour to the show.
The aim of EMK is to help the contestant as much as he or she can. But how much a contestant can win depends on that person.
The show is not scripted. You can't script what a host can say during the show. It can't be pre-planned.
My mother used to call me by a certain name. My wife has her own name for me. Love is important to me. I am happy being called Tarak, NTR, Rama Rao or whatever.
My affinity towards social media is very low. I am not interested in the exaggerated world of social media. But I have a team that updates me about what my fans are thinking and saying about me. I don't miss social media. My two beautiful kids keep me busy always.
'RRR' has demanded that I exile myself for 3 years. I am proud to be a part of the movie, which is about real heroes. I don't know whether the Team 'RRR' will appear on the game show as guests. It's up to the TV channel and the producers to decide.
More than I doing something for fans, the fans doing something on their own in terms of welfare works has been huge. The charity activities in my name have been done by them as good humans. I will always be indebted to my fans.
Jr NTR was asked about whether he wants to make a political entry: This is not the occasion to speak on politics. You all know what I have always said. 'This is not the occasion', has been my stock answer. If we have to discuss politics, we will do it over a cup of coffee on some other occasion.
Komaram Bheem's role in 'RRR' is exciting. I am excited also about my brother Ram Charan's role. I can't wait for the world to see the film.
