Speaking at the pre-release event of 'Amigos' on Sunday, Jr NTR opined that constant pestering by fans for movie-related updates puts off producers and directors. He didn't speak for only his producers/directors but also the makers of the movies of all the big stars.

Fans have weaponized social media to exert exceeding levels of pressure on the makers. Tarak indicated that seeking movie updates every other day is irrational, for there is nothing exciting that can be said about a film project all the time.

The 'RRR' actor's mild outburst has drawn contrarian views. Film observers are of the view that the fans of big heroes pine for official updates only when they are starved of updates for way too long. In the case of Jr NTR, his last film was released in theatres nearly 10 months ago. When his new movie is yet to go on the floors (NTR30 will go on the floors on or before March 20, by the way), it is but natural for fans to demand updates. The fans of Prabhas, for instance, have been famous for seeking updates on a regular basis.

Even in the case of Tamil cine fans, the demand for updates of movies starring Vijay and Ajith is intense. The two superstars do movies without long gaps. Yet, their fans trend hashtags on social media seeking updates.
