It's known that the Andhra Pradesh government is moving to rename Dr NTR University of Health Sciences as Dr YSR University. The move has created a political storm already.

On Thursday afternoon, Jr NTR joined the Nandamuri family to criticize the move in as non-political terms as he could. The 'RRR' star said that both his grandfather NTR and YSR enjoy public support. "The move is not going to increase YSR's stature, nor is it going to bring down NTR's stature," Tarak tweeted.

In his Telugu-language tweet, the 'Aravindha Sametha' star also wrote that NTR's place in Telugu history won't be erased by renaming the University. He suggested that NTR, who founded the TDP, will forever enjoy his place in the hearts of the Telugu people.

Earlier, Nandamuri Ramakrishna, besides Balakrishna, also criticized the move.

Jr NTR has made the statement at a time when he was recently in the news over meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
