Now we get to know about the names of the characters played by Vijay as well as the three heroines of the film.
Unconfirmed sources suggest that Vijay's character names in the film are Joseph, Salim and Maruthu. Where as the three female leads of the film have been named as Mary, Benazir and Saraswathy.
Vijay is said to be playing triple roles in the film while the three heroines on board are Samantha, Kajal Aggarwal and Nithya Menen.
We wish to reiterate that the information about the character names of Vijay and the three heroines are received from unconfirmed sources and this may or may not be true.
We will certainly have to wait for an official confirmation from the makers.
However if this news is true. it will be a appreciable attempt to project, Vijay as a commoner to all the three major religions of India. It is also worth to note that Vijay's real name is Joseph Vijay. The actor's character name in director Atlee's previous film 'Theri' is Vijayakumar a police officer who lives in Kerala as Joseph Kuruvilla after losing his wife and mother to the wrath of enemies.
'Thalapathy 61' is being directed by Atlee and produced by Sri Thenandal Films banner. The film's shoot is in its second schedule which is currently progressing in Chennai. Sources say that this schedule will go on till the end of this month after which the makers will move to abroad locations for the next schedules.
