The films which are remade from the successful originals from other languages are certainly handicapped by the comparisons made with the originals. Even when faithfully adaptations are made from the original many other aspects like performances, music and technical values are compared. Kannada film "Jootaata" is a remake of Malayalam Hit "Poochekkoru Mookkuththi' directed by Priyadharshan which was also made as "Hungama' in Hindi with the same director. The Kannada remake version comes as a fifth version of the Malayalam original, as two versions of the same film have been made in Telugu. One version is the remake of the Malayalam film and one other film released recently as "Intlo Sreemathi, Veedhilo Kumaari' is a remake of the Hindi hit "Hungaama'. The film was a big flop. The Kannada film sticks on to the Malayalam film format with the film's director Shankar taking some liberties to add and subtract a few sequences here and there. Even the Punch dialogues have not been effectively The first half of the original Malayalam film was effectively filled by the excellent timing of these artists. .
Dhyan enjoys good popularity in Kannada films, but he has failed to prove that he can do variety of roles. Looks as if he is only good as a lover boy. The film is saved by some excellent from talented artists like Rangayana Raghu, Thulasi, Komal, Sharan and other experienced artists. The film is a must see for the enjoyable performances of these artists.
The music of "Jootaata" by R.P.Patnayak is another let down. Nothing extra ordinary could be said of other technical departments.
