Director Johny Antony, who had earlier made the hit films like CID Moosa, Kochi Rajaavu and Thuruppugulaan and is presently making Inspector Garud, has decided to make his next film on Saddam with a title Saddam. Don't mistake it as a historical based on the Iraqi leader, but this is comedy fare which tells the story of a man named Xavier, who is popularly known among those around him as Saddam Xavier. This new Saddam is someone who reacts against anything and everything and is always ready to help those around him.

The film will have Suresh Gopi and Lal in key roles. Also in the cast are Jagathy Sreekumar, Vijayaraghavan, Cochin Haneefa and Harisree Ashokan. The film scripted by K S Naushad which is all set start to roll by the end of February, could revive hopes for Suresh Gopi who is all enmeshed in recent times with political and action thrillers. But, with the recent developments in international politics and the sympathy wave on the Iraqi leader, the makers may find it hard to retain the name.
