If there has ever-been the most-awaited vaccine/drug in the history of humanity, it has to be the anti-Covid drug. Nobody knows exactly when it is going to come. But Johnson and Johnson is quite hopeful that its vaccine candidate is going to get approval from relevant authorities by January next year.
The healthcare company is intensifying its manufacturing capabilities in anticipation. As per an ET report, J&J is "simultaneously raising the capabilities in different parts of the world, including India."
By the end of next month (July), human trials of the vaccine candidate are going to be started.
The company is admittedly "committed to global access to our vaccine". Paul Stoffels, the company’s chief scientific officer, has been quoted as saying that the additional global capacity in different countries will assist in the "rapid production of a vaccine and enable the supply of more than one billion doses of a safe and effective vaccine to people around the world.”
