Johnson`s Baby powder has lost another case with the law of California as a woman named Eva Echeverria, California Resident filed a suit against the Baby Powder Manufacturing giant, as she underwent “Ovarian Cancer” after using the baby powder for genital hygiene.
Apparently, the powder has certain harmful chemicals in it that can cause cancer if used in genital area.
Californian Court`s verdict cost the Baby Powder giant to pay $413 Million Dollars to the cancer victim.
Eva Echeverria happens to be the first consumer to win such a great price as damage claims.
“We are grateful for the jury`s verdict on this matter and that Eva Echeverria was able to have her day in court,” said Mark Robinson, her lawyer, in a statement.
“We will appeal today`s verdict because we are guided by the science, which supports the safety of Johnson`s baby powder,” J&J said.
It`s safe to avoid the brand for a while, we guess!
