Action star John Abraham seems to have a problem with OTT platforms and he has been quite vocal about it. During a recent promotional chat for his upcoming film 'Ek Villain 2', John shared that although he doesn't mind investing in OTT projects, he cannot see himself acting in one of them.
He told ETimes, "As a producer, I love the OTT space. I would love to make films for the medium and cater to that audience. But as an actor, I am very clear that I want to be on the big screen. “I am a big-screen hero and that is where I want to be seen. At this point, I will do films that cater to the big screen. I would find it offensive if someone shut off my film midway on a tablet because they needed to rush to the washroom."
John further added that he also has a issue with pricing of OTT services. "Also, I would not like to be available for ₹299 or 499. I have a problem with it," he stated. Naturally John's statements were met with significant trolling and backlash by netizens who felt that the actor is not dedicated to the craft of acting. Several people on Twitter called him out for his subpar acting skills and underperforming movies.
