US President-elect Joe Biden has got a vaccine jab against coronavirus. He was administered a shot of the Pfizer vaccine at a private hospital in Delaware. The vaccine was administered by Tabe Masa, a nurse.
Posting a picture of himself receiving the vaccine, Biden wrote, "Today, I received the COVID-19 vaccine. To the scientists and researchers who worked tirelessly to make this possible — thank you. We owe you an awful lot." He did it on live TV with the aim of boosting the confidence of people in the safety of the vaccine. Biden is 78.
He further asked the American people to know there is nothing to worry about. "When the vaccine is available, I urge you to take it," Biden, who defeated Donald Trump in the November Presidential elections, tweeted.
Lakhs of people have already been inoculated in the US. Biden has been beseeching the people of his country to continue wearing face masks to keep the virus at bay. So far, more than 3,18,000 Americans have succumbed to COVID-19.
Today, I received the COVID-19 vaccine.
