Joe Biden considering a 8-year-path to US citizenship

Joe Biden, the new US President, is said to be keen on making it possible for 11 million immigrants in the US to get American citizenship as part of his 8-year path to citizenship policy. This will be a major shift from the policy adopted by Donald Trump.
An exclusive report by Washington Post says that a lot is in store on the immigration front. Besides a 8-year path to citizenship, a system that enables immediate green cards for Dreamers/TPS will be put in place. There will also be a lifting of limits on key employment visas, besides adopting a big focus on combating root migration causes from Central America.
Reacting to the news, Simon Rosenberg wrote, "As someone in the immigration trenches for a long time, this news has brought a big smile to my face tonight....proud of Joe and Kamala for stepping up here, going big, and working to truly fix our broken immigration system."
However, the proposal is expected to run into trouble with Congress. "Amnesty for illegal aliens means more jobs lost and wages suppressed for tens of millions of American citizens. How can Socialists credibly claim to represent lower-income Americans when Socialist border security weakness hurts so many struggling American families?" wrote Mo Brooks on Twitter, reacting to the proposals.
