Joan Lee the wife of Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee passed away in her residence surrounded by family following a stroke she suffered a week back. She was 93 and had a fulfilling marriage of 69 years and is survived by her husband and daughter Joan J.C. Celia.
Joan is credited for inspiring Stan Lee to create 'Fantastic Four' and influenced him to create real life like flawed superheroes such as the 'Spider Man', 'Hulk', 'X-Men', 'Iron Man', 'Thor' and 'Doctor Strange' among others. Marvel has released the statement "We are so saddened to hear about the loss of Joan Lee. We lost a member of the Marvel family today and our thoughts and prayers go out to Stan and his daughter Joan in this difficult time."
