Jo is back, to pair up with Suriya

One of the most admired women of Tamil cinema is being missed in Tamil screen for more than seven years. Here comes light at the end of the tunnel. Actress Jyothka, who remained one of the top heroines in the late 1990s and early 2000swill be making her comeback as an actress very soon.


Jyothika's husband and actor Suriya have recently launched his production company 2D films and their first production directed by Pandiraj is already underway. Now an official press release from the Production house confirms that the banner has acquired the remake rights of the critically acclaimed Malyalam film How Old Are You?'. Jyothika will be reprising the lead role played by Manju Warrier in the original.

Interestingly Manju herself made a comeback with How Old Are You?' after a gap in acting career and her performance in the film received enormous acclaim from critics as well as fans. The film also carried a strong social message.

Roshan Andrews, who made the original version will wield the megaphone for the Tamil remake as well. The remaining cast and crew are being finalized at full swing.

For newcomers Jyothiks is one of the most admired heroines in the history of Tamil cinema who stopped acting after her marriage to actor Suriya in 2006
