Singaporean Tamil period drama series, Ayya Veedu (Sir's House), produced by Tantra Television for telecast on Medicorp Vasantham won the prestigeous Best Digital Fiction Series Award at the 29th Asian Television Awards in Jakarta, Indonesia last night.
This milestone series set in the 1920s & 1990s concurrently is the story of a Singaporean Tamil Family that spans over 100 years. Inspired by true people & events, the series explores Kampung Spirit, Love, Friendship, Kinship, & Bonds. Ayya Veedu is a symbolic reflection of all Singaporean families.
An elaborate 1920s 2 story 6000 sqft Shophouse set was designed and eracted in Singapore specially for the filming of this series. It was designed by renown Kollywood Production Designer, Rajeevan, his son, Surya Narayanan Rajeevan & daughter, Chandralekha Rajeevan.
A huge ensemble of Singaporean & Malaysian actors & actresses came together to bring to screen this unique story scripted by Yuwaji & Shivashree. The songs were scored by composer Thiban.
Tantra Inc - Group of Companies' Chairman & Founder, JK Saravana produced and directed this series which was inspired by his own family particularly his late grandfathers, George Suppiah & Muthusamy.
JK Saravana together with the group's Chief Creative Director, Nanthakumar T and Chief Operations Officer, JK Shatesh received the award in Jakarta last night.
