Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has had a huge income surge in 2016, earning $95 Million (Rs 612.75 crore). The stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child` and myriad attractions franchise-related attractions at the Universal Studios Hollywood in the U.S. have contributed to this increase, making Rowling the highest-paid author in the world and the third highest-paid celebrity.
The latest book about the Boy Who Lived was the bestselling book of 2016 both in the U.S. and the U.K., among other countries. The West End production made a record by winning nine Olivier Awards and has sold out well into 2018. It is expected to make the author more profits and perhaps even win a Tony Award when it moves to Broadway next year.
