Actor Jiiva, who was last seen in the 2018 Superhit Kalakalappu 2 costarring Catherine Tresa, is currently occupied with a number of exciting projects in various stages of filming, and the recently released teaser of Gypsy has brought back memories of the performer Jiiva of Katrathu Thamizh and Raam days.

Now, there's a latest buzz in the industry that Jiiva might be playing cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth, in the upcoming Bollywood sports flick 83, which will be directed by Kabir Khan and chronicle the journey of Indian cricket team to win the 1983 world cup.

While initially it was reported Vijay Deverakonda might play Srikkanth, now Jiiva's name has been linked to the project. While an official confirmation in this regard is awaited, it will be interesting to see Jiiva as a cricketer, as he's been known to be an ardent fan and has played well in star cricket matches as well.
