1983, June 25 - a date etched in the hearts of Indian cricket fans, as that was when the Indian Cricket team won its first ever world cup tournament, captained by the legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev. Currently there is a biopic made in Bollywood on the Indian worldcup victory, titled as 83.

Recently, the promotional event of this movie which is releasing next year, was held and actor Jiiva who is making his Bollywood debut with the movie playing cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth, was present in the event, where he had interactions with legends Kapil Dev and Balwinder Singh Sandhu, and his photos with them have turned viral.

83 the movie, directed by Kabir Khan of Ek Tha Tiger and Bhajrangi Bhaijaan fame will have Ranveer Singh playing Kapil Dev, Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar, Saqib Salim as Mohinder Amarnath, Ammy Virk as Balwinder Singh Sandhu, Saahil Khattar as Syed Kirmani, Adinath Kothari as Vengsarkar and it is expected that this movie will turn a blockbuster like MS Dhoni biopic.
