Jiiva clears a controversy

No matter how careful they are citizens of the tinsel town are bound to find themselves in controversies. The latest to the list is Jiiva, who has earned the wrath of a section of Tamil activists for his decision to take part in a New Year party in Switzerland, allegedly backed by an 'influential' person in Sri Lanka.

However, the 'Ko' and 'Rowthiram' actor has cleared the air, saying that all that he know was the function was being organized by the Tamil Sangam in Switzerland, to facilitate his good friends- singer Krish and his actress wife Sangeetha.

Since I would be in Europe at that time, they asked me to attend the event, to which I too gave my consent. I will now re-consider my decision (whether to take part or not in the function), since it is snowballing into a controversy, he added.

This New Year, Jiiva has the release of Shankar-directed 'Nanban' in store (Pongal release), which has Vijay and Srikanth in lead roles along with him. The actor has turned a producer recently and his maiden production venture is expected to hit the floors in 2012.
