Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the 2014 movie Jigarthanda which stars Siddharth, Bobby Simha, Karunakaran and Lakshmi Menon was critically acclaimed and was remade in Kannada with the same name and in Telugu last year as Gaddalakonda Ganesh. 

The movie was planned to be remade in Hindi with Farhan Akhtar, Tamannaah and Sanjay Dutt, but now reportedly there's a change in plan. Actor Akshay Kumar had last year announced a new movie titled Bachchan Pandey, which is directed by Farhad Samjhi and also stars Kriti Sanon.

While it was said earlier that Bachchan Pandey is the remake of Ajith starrer Veeram, the latest rumour making the rounds is that the makers have decided to remake Jigarthanda as Bachchan Pandey, and that Akshay Kumar will play Bobby Simha's role and as a surprise, Kriti Sanon will be seen playing Siddharth's character. An official announcement is expected soon.
