Karthik Subbaraj made his debut as a director in Tamil cinema 'Pizza' in 2012 ushering in a new wave of directors making it big via the short film route. He then made several super hit films including Bobby Simha's 'Jigarthanda', Vijay Sethupathi's 'Iraivi', Superstar Rajini's 'Petta', Dhanush's 'Jigarthanda' and Chiyaan Vikram's 'Mahaan'.

A few months back Karthik Subbaraj announced his new film 'Jigarthanda Double X' with a quirky teaser featuring S.J. Suryah and Raghava Lawrence which went viral on the internet. The filming was going on at a brisk pace and has been wrapped up.

Now a new teaser of 'Jigarthanda Double X' aka 'Jigarthanda 2' has been released along with the release date as Diwali 2023 that has excited fans. The film will be competing with Sivakarthikeyan's 'Ayalaan' , Karthi's 'Japan' and Dhanush's 'Captain Miller' at the box office.

'Jigarthanda Double X' has Nimisha Sajayan as the leading lady with Santhosh Narayanan scoring the music and cinematography by Thirunavukarasu while Stone Bench Creations is bankrolling.
