A Jet Airways flight on Thursday took off from Mumbai, only to encounter severe problems due to a human error. For about an hour or so, the 166 passengers were in a state of shock.
It all began because a "bizarre error" resulted in a drop in cabin pressure. The flight staff forgot to turn on a switch that controls cabin air pressure. In no time, the oxygen masks came off, and the passengers felt dizzy. As per reports, some of them suffered nose-bleed and ear-bleed. "After we took off, the AC malfunctioned, then air pressure system malfunctioned too and oxygen masks came out. Some of us experienced nose bleeding and headache," a passenger has been quoted as saying by a news agency.
Jet Airways has apologized for the inconvenience to its guests.
Meanwhile, the Union Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu has directed officials to ensure a safety audit of all scheduled airlines and airports with immediate effect. As per a PTI report, the Minister will be submitted the findings within 30 days.
