It is not uncommon for actresses to hear sexist and other unnecessary remarks on what they wear. The issue is not only rampant in regional industries, but also in the world of Hollywood as well. The latest to be at the receiving end of this behaviour is famed actress Jennifer Lawrence. 

The actress was wearing a Versace dress for a promotional event for her upcoming film ‘Red Sparrow’ which was held at London. Many critics pointed out that the dress was revealing and it was unnecessary for a cold weather. The web critics also noted yet another contrast how her male co-stars wore long trousers and covered in jackets.

However, Jennifer has hit back the naysayers terming the entire incident to be ‘ridiculous’ and ‘sexist’. “Over-reacting about everything someone says or does, creating controversies over silly inocuous things such as what I choose to wear or not wear, is not moving us forward. It’s creating silly distractions from real issues,” she said in her social page.

Jennifer also went ahead further stating that she would have stood in the snow for that dress because she loves fashion and that dress was her choice.
