Jeevitha Rajasekhar on Monday held a presser to address the controversies in which MAA has been dragged ahead of the Presidential elections, to be held on October 10. She suggested that a lot of controversies have been manufactured and they are not real.
In her long presser, Jeevitha said that the outstanding issues have to be resolved amicably and in a conciliatory manner. Adding that MAA is not just about the President but also about the General Secretary, Executive Committee members and others, Jeevitha said that it's not true that she is not signing on some papers. "I am not the royal authority here," Jeevitha clarified, revealing her personal phone number so that those who have got issues can contact her at any time.
She took a swipe at VK Naresh for making some allegedly improper remarks in recent weeks. "I don't understand why Naresh garu is pushing things to the wall. Why is he making things sound so controversial? I have a lot of respect for Manchu Vishnu and his family," Jeevitha stated.
"Nobody can project me in a negative light. My character won't be misunderstood by anyone overnight. I have acquired credibility over a period of 25 years," Jeevitha said, adding that she didn't want to contest as MAA President when the association has been divided sharply into camps. "I didn't want to add to the chaos. I also find Prakash Raj garu quite accessible. So, I joined him. I can't support Vishnu Manchu because he is backed by Naresh garu, who doesn't listen to legitimate voices," Jeevitha said.
She described the recent tirade by Posani Krishna Murali against Pawan Kalyan as unfortunate. "Strong action must be initiated against Posani. You can criticize Pawan Kalyan, but why make personal remarks against his wife and kids? This is not acceptable. The film industry has to act against Posani. Probably, action will be taken against him after the MAA elections," Jeevitha said, adding that the Prakash Raj panel, if it wins the polls, will act against Posani if rules allow.
Jeevitha said that she doesn't have any problem with Prakash Raj's tirades against BJP, whose member she is. "Let's not mix cinema and politics. Prakash Raj is entitled to his views. I am part of his panel because this is MAA. This is not politics," Jeevitha clarified.
