Soon after the release of Aran, Mohanlal pointed fingers at producer R B Choudhary for using a dubbed voice for him in Tamil without his knowledge and also adding few more scenes featuring Jeeva.

Jeeva, who acted as Mohanlal's buddy in the film directed by Major Ravi, said, "Using a dubbing voice for Mohanlal was nothing intentional. Since he was shooting for a movie abroad, we had to use a dubbing voice for Mohanlal in the Tamil version. Had we waited for Mohanlal to return, the movie's release would have been delayed by a few more months".

Also on the charge that Jeeva's role was made meatier in Tamil, Jeeva said, "We added up few scenes in Tamil only with a view to appeal to the Tamil audience. Since I am more familiar to Tamil audience, a few scenes were added. Again it was nothing intentional and targeted at hurting Mohanlal's sentiments.

Jeeva felt dismayed at Mohanlal's outbursts.
