Ranjim Das from Delhi is among the top six students who secured a 100 percentile score in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2021. The teenager mentioned that he follows Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and expressed his hopes of innovating some extraordinary tech-based products one day.
Ranjim also said that he wishes to get a Computer Science degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-D) as he would prefer staying in his hometown. The young achiever talked about testing positive for the novel coronavirus in November last year, although it didn't stop him from working towards his ambitions. "I skipped preparations only for two days and that too during the initial phase after being tested positive for COVID-19. This is because I was suffering from body ache and fever so couldn't concentrate. But I returned to my studies after that. I started attending online classes and preparing at home, where I was under quarantine," Ranjim was quoted as saying by a news agency.
However, the pandemic turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Ranjim in one way as he did not have to lose time travelling to the coaching centre. "I utilised this time to focus more on preparations. I took 32 mock tests to prepare for the exam and this boosted my confidence. I read IE Irodov for physics, Ghanshyam Tewani for maths, M S Chouhan and Neeraj Kumar for chemistry," he added. Ranjim appeared for the JEE Main examination on February 25 this year and the results of the test were declared on March 8.
