Staying true to his promise to financially help trans woman Sajna, who hit headlines after being harassed for selling biryani on the roadside, actor Jayasurya has inaugurated a new biriyani shop for her. She started ‘Sajna’s kitchen’ at Malikampeedika in Aluva, Kerala.
It was after the news of her harassment that went viral on social media, Jayasuryan offered his support for Sajna as people were still reluctant to provide a shop for a transwoman. Amid the COVID-19 outbreak, Sajna found it difficult to make her ends meet and so she decided to sell biryanis on the street. However, she was allegedly assaulted by other vendors.
Now after a lot of effort, Sajna found the one at Malikampeedika. Sajna has employed 8 people and she is the boss and main chef. The restaurant will be open from 6 am to 10 pm.
