Actor Jayaram made the Mollywood industry proud as he has been conferred with the Padma Shri award, this year. The jubilant actor says that he is absolutely honoured at being conferred with the Padma Award and that he was grateful for it. “I think this is also a great recognition to the great art of mimicry”.

Jayaram thanked the Union government for according this honor and dedicated the award to his guru - the late P Padmarajan whom he fondly calls Pappettan.

“January 24 was the death anniversary of Pappettan, my Guru and my mentor. I think his soul will be rejoicing on hearing the news,” said Jayaram.

He is currently shooting for 'Chinatown' at Hyderabad, where his co-artists including Mohanlal and Dileep joined the party for celebration.
