East Coast Vijayan is the name that shot to fame with the musical albums that he produced.

With the songs like Ninakkai Thozhy, he also proved that he is one of the talented lyricists in the industry. Also famous as an organizer, he is now stepping to film direction.

His first project as director will have Jayaram in the lead. The film titled Novel will tell a sensitive love story which has Sada for the first time as heroine in Malayalam.

Earlier the actress has appeared in an item song in Janmam, which is yet to be released. The film which will be scripted by the director will also have a number of love songs written by the director and set to music by Umbayee, M. Jayachandran and Balabhaskar.

Also in the cast are Jagathy, Innocent, Nedumudi, Ganeshkumar, Indrans, Anoop and Sarika. The film is expected to be on floors by the mid of August.
