Poomaram, the movie which is supposed to mark Kalidas Jayaram's debut in a lead role is one of the most anticipated projects of 2017. The title song of Poomaram was released by the end of 2016, and it had instantly took the social media by storm. However, for the past few months, there is absolutely no news about the project which is directed by the hitmaker Abrid Shine. Soon rumours spread out that Poomaram has been put in the cold storage.

But now, for the first time, Jayaram himself has revealed in a TV show that Poomaram will release in December this year. Jayaram also stated that the dubbing works of the film are in full swing. With the clarification that Poomaram will hit the big screen soon, the expectation is building up among movie buffs to watch this star kid in action. 

Along with Kalidas, Poomaram will also feature a bunch of newcomers. Kunchacko Boban and Meera Jasmine will be playing extended cameo appearances. Written and directed by Abrid Shine, the film is bankrolled jointly by Dr. Paul Varghese and Abrid Shine under the banner Lime Light Cinemas.
