Mani Ratnam's much-awaited film adaptation of the Tamil literary novel Ponniyin Selvan is getting bigger by the day with each new addition to the cast adding excitement to the fans. While the director is busy with the pre-production work of the film, it has been revealed by sources that Jayam Ravi's son, Arav, who made his debut in his father's movie Tik Tik Tik, has been roped in to play a role in the film.

Ponniyin Selvan will reportedly feature 50 characters, of which Vikram will be doing the role of Aditya Karikaalan, Amitabh Bachchan as Sundara Chozhar, Sathyaraj as Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Nandhini, Jayam Ravi as Arulmozhi Varman, Keerthy Suresh as Kunthavai Naachiyaar and Karthi as Vanthiya Devan. It was recently announced that Malayalam actor Jayaram joined the cast of the film.

The official cast and crew of the movie are expected to be announced by the makers soon. Ponniyin Selvan is jointly produced by Lyca Productions and Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies.
