We had already updated you that one of the Tamil cinema's leading actors, Jayam Ravi, is currently shooting for his 28th film directed by N Kalyana Krishnan. Titled 'Agilan', this project marks the second collaboration of Kalyan with Jayam Ravi, who also acted in the filmmaker's debut movie.

Produced by Screen Scene Media Entertainment, Jayam Ravi kickstarted shooting for 'Agilan' in September 2021. Touted to be an action thriller happening around the harbour, Priya Bhavani Shankar is essaying the female lead role and Sam CS scores the music while the cinematography is handled by Vivek.

Now, the latest hot news is that Jayam Ravi will be playing a gangster role in Agilan and Priya Bhavani Shankar will be seen as a police officer. Jayam Ravi was spotted in a marine uniform in the first look poster as he plays a smuggler disguised as a Navy officer. This gangster movie will explore the underworld of smugglers operating around the North Madras seaport.

It also stars Tanya Ravichandran, Harish Uthaman, Hareesh Peradi, Sirag Johnny and Thamizh in important roles. The film's shooting is going on in full swing and will be completed soon. In an interaction with Vikatan, Kalyana Krishnan said, "Agilan is entirely an underworld gangster action movie filled with energy, action, speed and brilliance in every scene you watch. This is the story of Agilan, a gangster. When a hero stands ready for everything, when there is a producer Sundar who allows to spend, everything is possible. 'Agilan' is a super mass film as a mass hero for Ravi."

When asked about Jayam Ravi and Priya Bhavani's roles, the director added, "The film is based on the life of people near the harbour. I have told a story of one of them. This movie has a lot of risky scenes and Ravi did everything willingly. Agilan is a character who doesn't express his emotions. No one knows what his real emotion is. The crux of the film is who his true emotions are for. Priya Bhavani Shankar will be seen as a police officer, the main character who is essential to the story. She and Tanya Ravichandran have done well. I doubt if anyone else could have done it so well."
