Jayam Ravi who played the title role in Mani Ratnam's epic multistarrer 'Ponniyin Selvan' and 'Ponniyin Selvan 2' received high critical acclaim for his authentic portrayal of the ancient Chozha King Arun Mozhi Varman aka Raja Raja Chozhan. He is currently acting in a number of movies including 'Iraivan' costarring Nayanthara which is ready for release, 'Siren' costarring Keerthy Suresh and 'Genie' costarring Krithi Shetty.

We already reported that Ravi has signed on to play the lead role in a new movie to be directed by Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi. The latest report is that the shooting has already started and portions involving Nithya Menen the female lead is being canned.

Reports suggest that Jayam Ravi will join the sets soon and will be shooting at a stretch for his portions. The as yet untitled film has music by A.R. Rahman and is produced by Red Giant Movies.
