'Thani Oruvan' goes past 'Drishyam'

The Jeethu Joseph-Mohanlal combo delivered the biggest hit in Malayalam cinema with Drishyam' which caught the imagination of pan Indian filmmakers, resulting in the film being remade and succeeding in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi.

In a similar way the Mohan Raja directed Thani Oruvan' written by himself and Subha with Jayam Ravi-Arvind Swamy and Nayanthara leading the cast has become such a huge critical and commercial success that other language filmmakers are making a beeline towards Raja for the remake rights. It is believed that Salman Khan in Hindi, Ram Charan Teja in Telugu, Puneeth Rajkumar in Kannada, actress Genelia in Marathi and a renowned Bengali production house are close to inking a deal. If everything falls into place then Thani Oruvan' will go one step ahead of Drishyam' as it will be remade in five languages.
