Jayam Ravi is one of the skilled actors in Tamil cinema who is currently working on the upcoming films 'Ponniyin Selvan', 'Agilan' and the long-delayed 'Jana Gana Mana'. Today, the makers announced that Mani Ratnam's epic, 'Ponniyin Selvan Part 1', will be released on September 30.

Earlier in 2019, the charming actor teamed up with director Ahmed of Endrendum Punnagai and Manithan fame for the big-budget espionage thriller titled 'Jana Gana Mana', which features Jayam Ravi as an army officer. The production of the movie was halted due to the COVID pandemic as the shooting involved foreign schedules.

Meanwhile, in 2021, it was reported that Jayam Ravi will work with director Ahmed once again excluding 'Jana Gana Mana'. While there is no information on the halted film, there are rumours that the star-studded biggie is shelved as of now. Now, the hot update is that the ‘Thani Oruvan’ pair will reunite for Jayam Ravi & Ahmed’s yet-to-be-titled project.

The big buzz is that Lady Superstar Nayanthara is roped in to play the female lead role in Jayam Ravi & Ahmed's next movie. Tentatively called 'JR29', the shoot is reportedly planned in India and expected to kickstart in April month. Sources also say that Yuvan Shankar Raja will be scoring music for 'JR29' and bankrolled by Passion Studios.
