In a recent development, actor Jayam Ravi has confirmed his separation from his wife, Aarti, after 14 years of marriage. The couple, who tied the knot in 2009, share two sons. While Aarti had earlier expressed that the announcement of their separation was made without her prior knowledge, Jayam Ravi has now addressed the issue and cleared up some of the surrounding rumours.

Ravi clarified the timeline of events, stating, "I sent a legal notice through my lawyer, which Aarti's father acknowledged. Both our parents met at our home to discuss the matter. So, it’s surprising they say I wasn’t accessible. I was in Chennai for Aarav’s birthday in June, and we celebrated together—there are pictures from the event as proof. I've had an open conversation with Aarav about the situation, though Ayaan is still too young to understand. Naturally, Aarav wants us to stay together."

The actor also addressed rumours linking him to a singer after his divorce announcement. He said, "It’s not right to drag someone else into this. I know her because we were planning to open a spiritual center together. When people try to damage the reputation I’ve built through years of hard work and careful film choices, I can only laugh. While I’m facing a difficult phase, it’s certainly not the end."
