We Tamil audiences were waiting for a movie of a scale similar to ‘Bahubali’. And then came the announcement for director Sundar.C’s ‘Sanghamithra’, an ambitious period film which was touted to have a Rs.150 crore budget.

Arya and Jayam Ravi are signed to play the leading roles in the movie. However, when Shruti Haasan left the project citing creative differences, there was an air of doubt lingering among the audiences. Then came in Disha Patani. Now the hottest scoop about the film is that it will begin rolling from August in Hyderabad. However, we still await an official confirmation from the makers.

AR Rahman will be composing the music score for ‘Sangamithra’. The film will have its Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions as well. The story is touted to revolve around the female lead of the same name during the 8th century AD. The prestigious project is being bankrolled by Sri Thenandal Films.
